Report Presented by the Legislative Affair Subcommittee of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Industrial Structure Council (Draft)

   Established on May 11 this year at the Intellectual Property Committee of the Industrial Structure Council, the Legislative Affair Subcommittee has discussed the ideal status of the Patent Law as well as the Trademark Law in relation to the construction and development of an information technology oriented society.
   We are now at the stage of summarizing what we have hitherto discussed as a report. To make the final and actual report as efficacious as possible, we would like to invite people from various fields to make comments on this draft.
   Your comments will help us a great deal in improving the draft. Your comments are very much appreciated, although we will not be able to answer each of them.
