Further Strengthening of Cooperation in the IP Field with China

The Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China (SIPO) held a Japan-China Deputy Heads Meeting on October 24 in Qingdao, China. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kihara and Director-General of the Policy Planning and Coordination Department Mr. Donoue participated in the meeting from Japan and discussed issues on the future cooperation between the JPO and the SIPO, which included cooperation aimed at further promoting the use of the JPO-SIPO Patent Prosecution Highway Program and cooperation in patent classification.
The JPO intends to further strengthen cooperation in the field of intellectual property with China.
