Exchange of Opinions with the AIPLA

The IP Practice in Japan Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association* (AIPLA) visited the JPO on April 20. Commissioner Ito met with the President of the AIPLA Ms. Israel and exchanged opinions on the recent developments in the area of intellectual property and how to proceed with discussions on harmonization of patent systems in the future. After their talks, JPO and AIPLA held experts’ meeting on issues surrounding the patent systems and trademark systems as well as measures related to the issues in both countries.
