Exchange of Opinions with the AIPLA

The IP Practice in Japan Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association* (AIPLA) visited the JPO on April 18, and exchanged opinions with Commissioner Ito, regarding the direction of IP5 Heads Meeting which will be hosted by JPO in June 2016, measures related to examination quality in the US, and how to proceed with discussions on harmonization of patent systems in the future. After their talks, JPO and AIPLA held experts’ meeting on issues surrounding the patent systems and trademark systems as well as their relevant measures.
