SAIC of the People's Republic of China Visited JPO

From January 23 to 25, a delegation headed by Vice Director Fu Hongwei of the Economic Information Center of the SAIC* of the People's Republic of China, which has jurisdiction over the trademark system in China, visited the JPO to exchange opinions on general electronics systems of the JPO in order to improve their electronics systems including the trademark application system in the SAIC.

The JPO introduced general electronics systems such as those for applications, formality checks, trademark substantive examinations, and browsing. Active discussions also took place on issues of interest to both sides with a view toward future cooperation in the field of trademarks.

The delegation of the SAIC also visited relevant IP-related organizations aside from the JPO.
The JPO will continuously strengthen its initiatives on IP-related matters with China.
