Following the 2002 amendment of Sections 36(4)(ii), 48septies and 49(v) of the Patent Law, the Japan Patent Office (JPO) had drafted "Examination Guidelines on Requirement for Disclosure of Information on Prior Art Documents" June 2002 and invited comments on this Draft.
Reflecting the comments, the JPO finalized "Examination Guidelines on Requirement for Disclosure of Information on Prior Art Documents" following. The Guidelines will be effective September 1, 2002.
