| The Japan Patent Office (JPO) currently issues only one patent/registration certificate even for an application for which there are more than one right holders. |
|
| The JPO is to change this practice and start issuing as many certificates as the number of right holders for the applications registered in and after June 2001 in the fields of patents, utility models, designs, and trademarks. |
|
| Please note that dispatch of these certificates will be actually started in mid-June. |
