The Japan Patent Office (JPO) has added a new service to the Industrial Property Digital Library (IPDL) for providing industrial property information in English via the Internet, from 30 March 2000.

  So far the Searching PAJ service has been limited to the English translation of the first page publication of unexamined patent applications covering bibliographic data, abstracts and representative drawings. Now, the new service, the automated translation of publication of unexamined patent applications, is added to the Searching PAJ service.
