Profile of the Kingdom of Thailand
The Kingdom of Thailand has an area about 1.4 times as large as that of Japan, approximately 514,000 km2 and it is located in the center of Indochina. The north is mountainous, the northeast is highland, the central area is a delta, and in the south, there is rain forest. As the country’s climate is affected by monsoons, it has a wet season and a dry season during the year. The population is 61.81 million (as of 2001), most of whom are Thai. There are also local Chinese, Malayan and minority mountain tribes. People speak Thai. 95% of the population is Buddhists (and very few people are believers in other religions). The capital city is Bangkok. |

In a follow-up of the JICA project-type technical cooperation that was carried out by the IT adviser during the period from March 2002 to March 2003 for the purpose of technology transfer, the expert provided necessary instructions and advice on transferred technology and equipment to his counterparts. |
