This was the tenth time for the seminar to be held in the country.

A total of 277 people (147 the 1st day and 130 the 2nd day) participated in the seminar during the two days, including those from IPOs, law offices, and companies. Of the participants, 178 were IPAA members (95 the 1st day and 83 the 2nd day).

Before starting the lectures, the Students of the Food for Hungry Minds School played the recorders at the opening ceremony (IPAA supports this organization inis their original activities as well), followed by addresses to the participants by Mr. Bundang, President, IPAA, Inc.; Mr. Honzawa, Deputy Director, International Affairs Division, JPO; and Hon. Blancaflor, Director General, Intellectual Property Philippines.

New ideas of IPPA were evident everywhere. There was not only the recorder performance by the children at the opening ceremony, but there was also a raffle event with prizes at the closing ceremony to encourage the participants to stay until the end of seminar. The prizes were provided by IPAA and the participants were quite excited. We felt that the atmosphere was very friendly, with no separation between the government and private sectors. We felt this was a result of the network that has been created by their vigorous activities throughout the year.

This year was also the election year for IPAA officers, and Atty. Bundang, president for 2011-2012, gave a report on IPAA's activities over the past two years. The president for the next term will be decided in December.

This seminar was again certified by the Supreme Court regulation as a MCLE (Mandatory Continuing Legal Education) seminar, which requires 36 hours of education every three years for lawyers that belong to the bar association.

As for the program and content of the lectures, please see the above program link.
