The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Dr. Francis Gurry, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of the Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr. Kajiyama Hiroshi, on February 19.
On this occasion, they affirmed the importance of realizing the Intellectual Property System to keep up with the rapid technological innovation, and agreed to cooperate with each other in discussing policies for the future Intellectual Property System.
Moreover, on the same day, WIPO Director Gurry met with JPO Commissioner Matsunaga Akira to have a talk. During the talk, Mr. Matsunaga announced the intentions of the JPO to participate as a partner in the online platform “WIPO GREEN” run by the WIPO to promote the spread of green technologies.
