The JPO Conducts Design Training Program Relating to Graphic Images for the Directorate General of Intellectual Property

June 1, 2022

The Japan Patent Office (JPO) conducted a two-day online design training program for members of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) in Indonesia on May 30-31, 2022.

The training program was led by a design examiner from the JPO who is highly experienced in design examination, and was attended by around 27 design examiners from the DGIP.

During the program, the trainer shared the JPO’s knowledge on examination guidelines, operations and design classification in relation to graphic images. In addition, the DGIP introduced the design examination system in Indonesia.

The JPO will continue to offer support and cooperation in this area by conducting training programs for emerging countries, including Indonesia, in order to help improve and strengthen examination practices and operating procedures.
