125th Anniversary of the IPR System Projects

The Year 2010 marks the 125th anniversary of the Industrial Property Rights System (PDF:228KB) in Japan.
The Japan Patent Office (JPO) is carrying out a number of projects (PDF:101KB) commemorating this significant anniversary. For example, JPO is posting on its website a series of relaying messages, in which front-line researchers disclose their experiences, in order for children to easily find the joy of inventions. Also, we hold tree-planting ceremony at the backyard of JPO building, wishing that the IPR System continuously contribute to the economic growth in our society.
Furthermore, at the 14th IP Policy Group Meeting of the Industrial Structure Council, IP experts are discussing on how a future IPR should be, taking into account the changing social needs and subsequent challenges surrounding the IPR System in Japan.
JPO will continue to make every effort in strengthening the industrial competitiveness and achieving the economic growth through promoting innovations, while building such an IPR system as responding to demands of the era.
