• 1. The Intellectual Property Achievement Award: “the Award of Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry” and “the Award from the Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office” (both are called “the Intellectual Property Achievement Award”) have been presented to individuals who have contributed to the expansion and development of the industrial property rights system as “award for a contributor related to the industrial property rights system,” and to companies which have most effectively taken advantage of the industrial property rights system and contributed to its development as “awards for a good-standing company utilizing the industrial property rights system.”
• 2. Invention Day: Commemorating the promulgation of the Patent Monopoly Act issued on April 18, 1885 (the predecessor of the current Japan Patent Act), the Invention Day was established to promote the expansion and enlightenment of the Industrial Property Rights System.
