Reports were made on results of the user consultations that were conducted by each patent office, focusing on the 4 key issues (“grace period”, “treatment of conflicting applications”, “18-month publication” and “prior user rights”), and it was agreed that these studies will be made available to the public.
Concurrently, it was agreed that discussions will be held to consider how future work is to be carried out by the Tegernsee Group. In addition, it was agreed that the Tegernsee Experts Group is to conduct a joint, factual summary analyzing the results of the individual office reports, including commonalities and differences in user views.
The summary is to be presented at the next meeting of the Tegernsee Heads to be held in the spring of 2014.

The JPO will continuously promote efforts to achieve patent system harmonization by participating in harmonization talks at various international discussions such as the Tegernsee Meetings.
