4.Outcome

The offices approved the Final Consolidated Report on the Tegernsee User Consultation. The report contains a joint, factual summary analysing the results of the individual Office reports on the 4 key issues (“grace period”, “treatment of conflicting applications”, “18-month publication” and “prior user rights”), including commonalities and differences in user views.
Also, the Tegernsee Group offices agreed to 1) publish the Final Report, 2) to communicate the results and provide opportunities for feedback from users, 3) to forward the Final Consolidated Report to the Chair of the Group B+, and 4) meet to review progress in the light of input received from users in due course.

Based on these, an international symposium on patent system harmonization, entitled the “Tegernsee Symposium-focused on Grace Period,” was introduced by the JPO, which would be held in summer. (The symposium was held in Tokyo on July 10th)
