JPO Hosted IP5 Deputy Heads Meeting

On April 13 and 15, 2021, the Japan Patent Office (JPO) hosted the IP5 Deputy Heads Meeting in the form of a videoconference.

At the meeting chaired by Mr. IWASAKI Susumu, Deputy Commissioner of the JPO, the Deputy Heads of IP5 Offices actively discussed the current status of various topics such as the details of reports from working groups, IP5 cooperation on new emerging technologies, and AI. In addition, the participants talked about other subjects, including new topics to be discussed at the IP5 such as the harmonization of international patent systems, as well as Strategic Topics to be discussed at the upcoming IP5 Heads-Industry Meeting in June 2021.
