On July 8, 2021, the Japan Patent Office (JPO), in collaboration with League of Arab States and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), held the dialogue, in the form of an online conference, for the purpose of sharing knowledge and exchanging opinions in the field of intellectual property (IP) between Japan and Arab region.
At the beginning of the dialogue, Mr. MORI Kiyoshi , Commissioner of the JPO, delivered the opening remarks. Following the remarks, Mr. IWASAKI Susumu , Deputy Commissioner of the JPO, gave a lecture on the ideal IP office in response to the new era at the presentation session.
Participants in the dialogue were, from Arab region, Kingdom of Bahrain, Arab Republic of Egypt, Jordan, Kingdom of Morocco, Sultanate of Oman, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Republic of the Sudan, Republic of Tunisia, League of Arab States and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Under the theme of "IP and New Frontiers Technology," respective countries and organizations made presentations and exchanged opinions on the role of IP offices required in the new era and ideal business operations at IP offices.
Through further advancing cooperative initiatives with IP offices in Arab region, the JPO continues to cooperate with the IP Offices in the Arab region to contribute to the development of the region and improve the IP environment.
