Japan Patent Office (JPO) Commissioner MORI and Deputy Commissioner IWASAKI held a meeting with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on October 1, 2021.
During the meeting, the heads exchanged views on initiatives regarding work-sharing, etc, and confirmed the potential for closer cooperation between the JPO and the USPTO in various areas.
In addition, the JPO and the USPTO updated the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) in the field of industrial designs, which was signed on June 14, 2018.
