JPO Held Discussions with EPO on the recent updates of the both Offices and the EPO-JPO comparative study on CII/AI.

Japan Patent Office Commissioner MORI and Deputy Commissioner IWASAKI held a meeting with the European Patent Office (EPO) on November 12, 2021.

During the Meeting, Commissioner MORI exchanged views with Mr. António-Serge de Pinho Campinos, President of EPO, on the recent updates of the both Offices, etc. In addition, on 12 November 2021, the same day as this meeting, the EPO and JPO published the upgraded report adding case examples of such as AI-related inventions to the comparative study of computer-implemented inventions on the same day, and confirmed the future cooperation between the two Offices.
