JPO Holds Heads Meeting with India

November 18, 2021

On November 16, 2021, Mr. MORI, Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office (JPO), held an online meeting with Mr. Rajendra Ratnoo, the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) of India.

In seeking to advance cooperative initiatives in the field of intellectual property (IP) between Japan and India, the two offices discussed various subjects such as holding the working-level meetings on the Japan-India Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Program, the IT Experts meeting, and the Information Exchange Program.

Going forward, the JPO, by further advancing cooperative initiatives with the Office of CGPDTM, will continue to work on establishing a framework in which IP rights of Japanese companies can be promptly and easily obtained as well as appropriately protected in India.
