The JPO Commissioner Gave a Speech at the IPBC Japan 2021

On December 9, 2021, Mr. MORI Kiyoshi, Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office (JPO), gave a keynote speech at the online event "IPBC Japan 2021" hosted by the IAM.

The "IPBC Japan 2021" is an international event for intellectual property professionals. The topics discussed included the impact of domestic and international IP policy trends, the increasing complexity of the global marketplace, and the commercial pressures affecting Japanese companies.

In his speech, Commissioner Mori introduced recent patent filing trends, the JPO's initiatives to respond to changes in the IP environment, measures to support business development through examinations, assessment of technology development trends based on patent analysis, and efforts for SEP (Standard Essential Patent) licensing negotiations.
