Exchange views with the Director of the Qazpatent and agree to strengthen cooperation in the field of intellectual property between the two countries

On January 30, 2023, Mr. Hamano, Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office (JPO), engaged in talks with Mr. Yerbol Ospanov, Director of the National Institute of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereafter, Qazpatent), and its Deputy Director, Ms. Aisha Zhumabekova.

During the meeting, the JPO and the Qazpatent exchanged views on Kazakhstan's accession to the Hague Agreement, and the provision of intellectual property training courses to Kazakhstan. In addition, they confirmed that they would continue enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of intellectual property.

The JPO will continue to cooperate with the development of intellectual property systems and human resources within developing countries.
