The members of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA)* visited the Japan Patent Office (JPO) on April 17th and had a meeting with the JPO Commissioner, Mr. Koichi HAMANO. This meeting was the first to be held in three years after being postponed due to COVID-19. The JPO introduced the Green Transformation Technologies Inventory (GXTI) and other latest developments, and AIPLA gave an introduction to U.S. IP information.
In addition, working-level meetings were held prior to this meeting in order to discuss issues and initiatives with regard to the patent and trademark systems in both the U.S. and Japan.
