Mr. YASUDA, Director-General of the Trial and Appeal Department of the JPO held bilateral meetings with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) during his attendance at the “REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY FOR WOMEN IN AGRIBUSINESS” in Kigali, Rwanda. He confirmed continued cooperation in the field of intellectual property through the utilization of Funds-in-Trust Japan Industrial Property Global, a voluntary contribution made by the Japan Patent Office (JPO) to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and through human resource development initiatives.
The JPO will continue to promote cooperation with African IP Offices to create an environment in which intellectual property can be quickly and smoothly secured and appropriately protected in Africa.
