Japan Patent Office Commissioner HAMANO and Deputy Commissioner KATSURA held talks with more than 20 national and regional intellectual property offices*1 on the occasion of their participation in the 64th General Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO, which was held in Geneva, Switzerland.
At this time, both JPO officials confirmed the future cooperative relationship to be continued with each country and region in the area of Intellectual Property administration. In particular, the JPO requested the G7 countries to cooperate in the G7 Heads of IP Office Conversation scheduled to be held in December of this year, for which the JPO will serve as host country. JPO also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Kazakhstan on cooperation in the field of intellectual property and agreed on an Action Plan with Indian Patent Office comprising future cooperation on intellectual property.
