Online workshop on IP Financing with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP)

As part of the cooperation based on the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) in the Field of IP between the Japan Patent Office and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, a workshop on Intellectual Property financing was held in an online format on Thursday, October 5, with officials participating from both offices.

During the workshop, the two offices deepened mutual understanding by introducing their specific approaches regarding IP financing, including IP evaluation, comprehensive support for SMEs, and awareness-raising initiatives to deepen understanding of intangible assets. In addition, there was a lively exchange of views regarding the kind of support that would be effective for SMEs to utilize intellectual property as a management resource.

The JPO will continue to help promote the appropriate protection and utilization of industrial property rights in the Middle Eastern region through cooperation with local IP Offices.
