Mr. HAMANO Koichi, Commissioner of Japan Patent Office(JPO) visited Saudi Arabia and participated in a bilateral heads meeting with Dr. Al Swailem, CEO of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP), on June 2, 2024.
The two heads confirmed the expansion of IP enforcement to the fields of cooperation to be addressed based on the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed between their two offices in 2019. They also signed a document during the meeting confirming the expansion of cooperative field.
In addition, the two heads exchanged views on the cooperative projects of their two offices for the current fiscal year, welcoming new initiatives in the IP enforcement field and confirming their commitment to deepening their cooperative relationship.
The JPO will further promote cooperation with the SAIP, and work to create an environment in which the intellectual property of Japanese companies can be secured quickly and smoothly, as well as properly utilized in Saudi Arabia.
