The Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the Intellectual Property Office of Viet Nam (IP Viet Nam) co-hosted a follow-up seminar in Hanoi, Viet Nam on November 22, 2024 on the theme "Protection and Enforcement of Trademark Rights on E-commerce Platforms".
The seminar was attended by approximately 150 intellectual property stakeholders from IP Viet Nam, the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance (DMS), and law firms, thereby indicating a strong awareness in Viet Nam regarding e-commerce and counterfeiting issues. Through presentations and Q&A sessions from both countries, participants deepened their understanding of current initiatives and challenges related to the enforcement of trademark rights on e-commerce platforms.
The JPO will continue to support the development and improvement of intellectual property systems in Viet Nam and other countries in order to ensure the prompt and smooth acquisition of intellectual property rights, as well as appropriate protection in this regard.
