JPO holds bilateral meeting with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

Japan Patent Office (JPO) Deputy Commissioner YASUDA Futoshi held a meeting with Ms. Lisa Jorgenson, Deputy Director General (Patents and Technology) of World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), on October 21, 2025 while attending the 43rd Trilateral Heads of Office meeting in Alexandria, Virginia in the United States.

During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on the current status of PCT international applications, and also confirmed their cooperation to introduce ePCT in the JPO. They additionally discussed their shared understanding regarding continued collaboration with respect to WIPO initiatives related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I).
