The JPO conducted a bilateral meeting with the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Thailand

On March 11, 2026, Commissioner KASAI Yasuyuki of the Japan Patent Office (JPO) conducted a bilateral meeting with Director General Auramon of the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Thailand. The meeting included productive discussions regarding a new initiative for the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH), which aims to expedite the examination process at the DIP by providing examination insights from the JPO, the preceding examination authority, a program that commenced January of this year. Additionally, they addressed issues related to the operation of trademark examinations in Thailand. Both offices reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across various fields in the future.
