The members of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA)* visited the Japan Patent Office (JPO) on April 13th. They held a meeting at this time with JPO Commissioner KASAI Yasuyuki, wherein both parties exchanged views on issues and initiatives regarding the patent and trademark systems.
Working-level meetings were also held prior to this meeting in order to discuss views on recent topics of interest including AI technology in the patent and trademark fields, as well as the impact of AI development on the patent attorney profession.
