JPO held an online seminar on industrial designs for ASEAN IP offices

The Japan Patent Office (JPO), in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC), held an online seminar on industrial designs for officials of intellectual property offices of ASEAN member states on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. The seminar was conducted with the support of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) and was attended by approximately 100 participants.

During the seminar, representatives from JAMA introduced case studies on industrial design examinations and shared practical considerations from the perspective of users. In the Q&A session, active exchanges of views took place, considering the circumstances in ASEAN countries.

The JPO will continue to promote cooperation in the field of intellectual property with IP offices in ASEAN member states.
