Bulk Download Service of Patent Information

The Japan Patent Office (JPO), in collaboration with the National Center for Industrial Property Information and Training (INPIT), offers a bulk download service for patent information.

This service provides access to patent information held by the JPO, including Patent　Information　Standardized Data, information published on J-PlatPat, and data received from other IP offices.

Users can download the latest published data of various patent information in bulk through the Bulk Data Download Site (hereinafter referred to as “Bulk Site”). We also provide archived data by copying it to an external storage media such as hard disks.

Application Form

Application Form To apply to this service, please fill out the necessary information on the application form and send it via email to the Patent Information Research and Policy Planning Section, Information Technology and Patent Information Management Office, General Coordination Division (PA0630@jpo.go.jp). Please ensure that the email subject line reads “Application for Download Service.”

p>The information provided on the application form will be used solely for the purposes related to the download service and not for any other purposes.

＊Please note that the provision of archived data via external storage media is currently suspended. It is expected to resume around August 2025.

FAQ

Q1 Does the download service require fees?

The service itself is free of charge. However, users should be aware that they are responsible for communication costs related to the use of the Bulk Site, and costs for external storage media and postage for the provision of archived data.

Q2 If a user ID and password are forgotten, can they be reissued?

Reissuance is possible following identity verification. For verification purposes, you might be required to provide a copy of the application form submitted during user registration.

Q3 Our organization is not registered as a corporation in the commercial register, but we would like to use a user ID and password among our members. Is it possible to register as a corporate user on the application form?

Yes, it is possible. Please ensure that you provide the email address and phone number of a contact person who can be consistently reached for communication with the relevant department at the JPO.

Q4 In the case of multiple business locations with different addresses, which address should be entered on the application form?

Please enter the address where the corporation or individual identified as the user is located.
