PPH pilot program between the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO)

PPH pilot program to begin on January 6, 2026

The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) will join the “Global PPH” framework to implement a mutual Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) among multiple offices, including the Japan Patent Office, on January 6, 2026. Consequently, a PPH pilot program between the Japan Patent Office and ARIPO will be launched on the same date.
