JPO Conducts JPO/IPR Training Course for IP Trainers

The JPO conducted the “JPO/IPR Training Course for IP Trainers” from December 8 2025 to February 27, 2026. A total of 18 trainees from 12 countries completed the course, which was intended for government officials and university staff involved in education related to IP systems.

The purpose of this course was to deepen the trainees’ knowledge about methods they can use for educating students regarding IP, as well as to learn about Japanese systems and experiences with IP issues, and to foster leaders engaged in IP education. During the course, programs were provided to develop leadership skills from various perspectives such as discussions, plans for developing study guidance, supplementary materials, company tours, and school visits.

Trainee comments regarding the course included the following:

"I am satisfied overall with this training course, as I had the opportunity to experience different cultures and educational styles, including visits to high schools in Japan.”

“I was particularly impressed by how the use of a real-world lecture environment provided trainees with the opportunity to introduce their own work and actively engage in their learning."
