The JPO conducted the “JPO/IPR Training Course for IP Trainers” in hybrid format, meaning online and by inviting trainees, from August 25 to September 26, 2023. A total of 19 trainees from 13 countries completed the course, which was intended for government officials and university staff involved in education related to IP systems.
The purpose of this course was to deepen the attendees’ knowledge about methods they can use for educating students on IP, as well as learn about Japanese systems and experiences with IP issues, and foster leaders engaged in IP education. During the course, programs were provided to develop leadership skills from various perspectives such as discussions, plans for developing study guidance, supplementary materials, company tours, and school visits.
Trainees’ comments regarding the course included the following:
"My goal was to deepen my knowledge of IP training methodology. In this training, I learned a lot about how to make IP training more interactive and effective.”
