If the invention is not sufficiently disclosed in the application as originally filed, this deficiency cannot be remedied later by adding further examples or features, because this would create added subject matter. However the applicant could try to present evidence showing that the invention was indeed sufficiently disclosed in the application as originally filed, for example by showing what was common general knowledge at the priority/filing date of the application. This could also be done with documents which were published after the filing date, or by supplying experimental evidence.
