The Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) co-hosted an online follow-up seminar on January 31, 2022.
The JPO has been organizing JPO/IPR training courses for IP offices in developing countries since FY1996 through the "JPO Cooperation in Human Resource Development Program", and has also held joint follow-up seminars together with IP offices in individual countries as part of the training course follow-up.
Approximately 160 IP personnel from the IPOPHL, private companies, law firms, and universities attended the seminar for JPO/IPR training course alumni from the Philippines.
Under the theme of "Human Resource Development in the Intellectual Property Field," staff members of the JPO and IPOPHL, as well as experts from universities and private companies in both the Philippines and Japan, introduced their respective IP human resource development initiatives in order to deepen participants’ understanding.
Through these initiatives, the JPO aims to contribute toward continuous, self-sustaining development and improvement of the IP environment in the Philippines, and ultimately to the overseas business expansion of Japanese companies.
