JPO and DIP hold joint follow-up seminar on 1 March 2022

March 3 2022

The Japan Patent Office and Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand co-hosted an online follow-up seminar on March 1, 2022.

The JPO has been organizing JPO/IPR training courses for IP offices in developing countries since FY1996 through the "JPO Cooperation in Human Resource Development Program", and has also held joint follow-up seminars together with IP offices in individual countries as part of the training course follow-up.

Approximately 120 IP personnel from the DIP as well as government agencies, private companies, patent and law firms, and IP professionals from universities and research institutes attended the seminar for JPO/IPR training course alumni from Thailand.

Under the theme of "Build Back Better through IP and Innovation," speakers from the governments of both countries as well as from private companies delivered presentations, while seminar participants deepened their understanding of the initiatives of the government in the field of IP, including digitization and public-private cooperation, as well as corporate activities incorporating the use of IP.

Through these initiatives, the JPO aims to contribute toward continuous, self-sustaining development and improvement of the IP environment in Thailand, and ultimately to the overseas business expansion of Japanese companies.
