The PCT-PPH allows the applicant to request PPH based on PCT international work products including WO/ISA, WO/IPEA and IPER.

Difference from Normal PPH

Although the Normal PPH also allows the applicant to request PPH for a PCT application in the national phase (see the figure below), the Normal PPH requires a national office action assessing the patentability of a corresponding application.

Since a PCT-PPH request is based on PCT international work products, the applicant can request PPH as soon as a PCT application enters the national phase and obtain a patent even faster.
